Settlement or Trial

Settlement or Trial
The vast majority of cases are resolved by a settlement. I use creative approaches, technology, expert witnesses, illustrations and exhibits to help the other side understand the strengths of my client’s case, all in an effort to settle the case. Settling a case usually means it is finished sooner, and with less cost. The certainty of settlement is usually preferable to the doubt and uncertainty of a trial, and the resulting appeal.

Some attorneys settle ALL their cases. I do not. When it is necessary to get a fair recovery for my client, I take the case to trial. There are not a lot of attorneys who know how to best present cases to a jury and feel comfortable doing it. I am one of them. I study the art and science of jury trials, and I comfortable in front of a jury—mostly because I would not be in the trial if I did not honestly believe in my client’s case.
